Your right to compensation under EU 261/2004
Regulation EU 261/2004 is a shield for passengers whose travel plans hit a wall. When your day falls apart because of a delayed flight, a cancelled flight, or denied boarding, the rule can be worth up to €600. It covers all flights departing from the EU and flights into the EU operated by a European carrier, Condor included.
Condor compensation for a delayed flight
If you flew with Condor and your flight was delayed by more than three hours, you can be entitled to compensation. As long as the delay wasn’t caused by extraordinary circumstances like severe weather or strikes, you should be paid.
Condor compensation for a cancelled flight
If they tell you about the cancellation less than 14 days before departure, and it wasn’t down to extraordinary circumstances, you’re entitled to compensation.
How much compensation am I entitled to?
| Flight distance | Compensation per passenger |
|---|---|
| Up to 1,500 km | €250 |
| 1,500–3,500 km (within or outside EU, e.g. Frankfurt – Tenerife) | €400 |
| Over 3,500 km (e.g. Frankfurt – New York) | €600 |
When you’re entitled and when you’re not
You’re entitled when the flight isn’t cancelled or delayed because of extraordinary circumstances. You won’t be paid if:
- The flight was cancelled because of bad weather.
- They warned you about the cancellation well in advance.
- They offered you a rerouting that gets you to your destination with minimal delay.
How to claim compensation from Condor
Two options. First, contact Condor directly and ask for compensation. Second, and in our view much simpler: check your claim with Refundio — fill in the form and we handle the rest.
What if the airline rejects the claim?
If Condor turns you down, don’t give up. Send us your flight details and we’ll try to negotiate the compensation on your behalf. We walk you through every step so you get what you’re owed.
