Your right to compensation under EU 261/2004
Regulation EU 261/2004 protects passengers when air travel goes wrong. If your flight is delayed, cancelled or overbooked, you may be entitled to up to €600. The rules cover flights departing from the EU, flights into the EU on European carriers, and in some cases flights outside the EU too.
Loganair compensation for a delayed flight
If you flew with Loganair and your flight ran more than three hours late, you may be entitled to compensation. Just check that the delay wasn’t caused by extraordinary circumstances like severe weather or strikes — in those cases the entitlement doesn’t apply. If Loganair is to blame, the money is owed.
Loganair compensation for a cancelled flight
If your flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, you may be entitled to compensation. Loganair has to inform passengers and offer a choice — a replacement flight or a refund. If the cancellation wasn’t caused by extraordinary circumstances, compensation is on the table.
How much compensation am I entitled to?

The amounts are fixed by the regulation and have nothing to do with what you paid for the ticket.
When you’re entitled and when you’re not
You’re not entitled when:
- The delay or cancellation was caused by extraordinary circumstances (natural disasters, strikes).
- You were told about the cancellation more than 14 days ahead.
- You got a replacement flight that gets you to your destination at roughly the same time.
- You voluntarily gave up your seat in a denied boarding situation.
