Your right to compensation under EU 261/2004
Regulation EU 261/2004 is a shield for passengers when things go wrong in the air. If your plans get blown apart by a delayed flight, a cancelled flight, or denied boarding, the rules can hand you up to €600. They cover every flight that departs from the EU and every flight operated by a European carrier.
Pegasus Airlines compensation for a delayed flight
If you flew with Pegasus Airlines and your flight was more than three hours late, you can be entitled to compensation. The right comes straight from EU 261/2004. If the airline isn’t to blame (extraordinary circumstances), compensation doesn’t apply.
Pegasus Airlines compensation for a cancelled flight
If Pegasus Airlines cancels your flight and gives you less than 14 days’ notice, you’re entitled to claim. You have a right to fair treatment and to be paid for the time and hassle. The airline should also offer a rerouting or a refund.
How much compensation am I entitled to?
| Flight distance | Compensation per passenger |
|---|---|
| Up to 1,500 km | €250 |
| 1,500–3,500 km (e.g. London – Istanbul) | €400 |
| Over 3,500 km (e.g. London – New York) | €600 |
When you’re entitled and when you’re not
You’re not entitled to compensation when extraordinary circumstances are behind the delay — bad weather, a strike. Airlines aren’t on the hook for things outside their control. The same goes if you were told about the cancellation more than 14 days before departure.
