Your right to compensation under EU 261/2004

Regulation EU 261/2004 is your back-up when air travel goes sideways. When you hit a delayed flight, a cancelled flight, or denied boarding, the rules give you the right to claim. They cover every flight departing from the EU, plus flights into the EU operated by an EU-based airline — so a hop from London to Barcelona is firmly inside the safety net.

SunExpress compensation for a delayed flight

If you flew with SunExpress and your flight was more than three hours late, you can be entitled to compensation. Fill in the form at Refundio — we’ll check the entitlement, deal with the airline, and keep you posted on the status of your case.

SunExpress compensation for a cancelled flight

If SunExpress cancels your flight, you can be entitled to up to €600. If you were told less than 14 days before departure, we’ll go after the airline on your behalf.

How much compensation am I entitled to?

Flight distanceCompensation per passenger
Up to 1,500 km€250
1,500–3,500 km (e.g. London – Antalya)€400
Over 3,500 km (e.g. London – Bangkok)€600

When you’re entitled and when you’re not

You’re not entitled to compensation when:

  • The delay or cancellation was caused by extraordinary circumstances (bad weather, a strike, unforeseeable events).
  • The airline gave you at least 14 days’ notice of the cancellation.
  • The airline offered a rerouting that gets you to your destination at a similar time.

How to claim compensation from SunExpress

You can try it yourself directly with SunExpress, or check your claim with Refundio. Fill in the form and we’ll handle the rest. Nothing to pay upfront — we only get paid if we recover the compensation.

What if SunExpress rejects the claim?

If SunExpress turns you down, don’t lose hope. At Refundio we’re ready to step in. We’ll deal with the airline for you, get the paperwork in order, and keep you in the loop at every step. If it comes to it, we’ll take the case to court.
